Helena Tahir primarily works in the fields of printmaking and drawing. She graduated with honors from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, earning a Bachelor's degree in Printmaking and a Master's degree in Painting. During her studies, she attended the Faculty of Fine Arts in Porto and the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig. Additionally, she has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad, including art fairs such as Vienna Contemporary, Art Brussels, and Art Rotterdam. Her work has been featured in exhibitions like Contemporary=Fresh, a traveling showcase of contemporary Slovenian graphic art that debuted in China before touring the Balkans. She also participated in the International Exhibition of Graphic Art and Artists' Books in Rijeka, where she was honored with the Young Artist Award.

Helena lives and works in Ljubljana, Slovenia. In 2023, she became the artist-in-residence for two years at Švicerija (MGLC). She further enriches her artistic practice by teaching as an Assistant Professor in the Printmaking Department at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana.

Her works are part of various private and public collections, including The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and KGLU, SI; the International Centre of Graphic Arts (MGLC), Ljubljana, SI; the Božidar Jakac Art Museum, Kostanjevica na Krki, SI; the RAVNIKAR Collection; Kino Šiška, Ljubljana, SI; and the Modern Art Museum SLU, Niš, RS.
