Open call for an artist residency
2026 — 2027
We invite you to apply for the year-long Enter Here residency, which will take place at the R SPACE in Ljubljana from April 2026 to February 2027.
The call is aimed at young artists and art collectives working in the field of experimental transdisciplinary art practices and new media, exploring our relationship with new technologies. As part of the residency program, we will offer the selected artist or collective a space for the long-term development of an artistic project and the opportunity for various public presentations in the form of exhibitions, talks, and other events throughout the year.
What we offer:
two basement spaces are available in our project space, suitable for experimenting with new media, developing intermedia installations, sound and video works, 3D design, and programming; a fee for artistic work and production resources for the realization of the project; curatorial and production support, assistance in organizing events, and access to technical equipment within the capabilities of the space; the opportunity to regularly present work through an accompanying program and a final exhibition in February 2027
The selected artist agrees to:
open their studio to the public during major public openings at Ravnikar (dates to be announced in advance), thus providing insight into their work process; present their project at the final exhibition in February 2027; throughout the year, it is possible to organize additional public events (e.g., screenings, talks, workshops, performances) at your own initiative, and the space is open to your ideas and collaborations with other artists.
Individuals or collectives who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply:
are active in the field of intermedia art and experimental practices; are under 35 years of age at the time of application; have permanent or temporary residence in Slovenia
The PDF application should include:
a short biography with the list of selected exhibitions and presentations (max. 1500 characters); a portfolio (link to a website or PDF, max. 10 MB); a letter of motivation with a description of the project you intend to develop during the residency (max. 2500 characters)
